The Immunovirology Research Network (IVRN)
The Immunology Research Network (IVRN) is a network of skilled research laboratories located across Australia, formed to facilitate strategic clinical immunology and virology research in HCV and HIV. The IVRN receives ongoing funding as part of ACH2.
Desired outcomes from the IVRN
- Quality control of research specimen collection associated with clinical trials and cohort studies with a view to laboratory investigation of diagnostic and prognostic tests for HIV and HCV – measured as outcomes of a quality assurance program.
- Enhancement of the value of such clinical trials and cohort studies with additional laboratory substudies, which will improve clinical management of HIV and hepatitis C infections in Australia – measured as the number of enhanced substudies.
- To enhance the collaborations between biomedical and clinical researchers in HIV and hepatitis C in Australia – measured as researcher satisfaction.
